Blue-Eyed Soul

I love blue-eyed soul. It's no secret I'm a huge fan of Dusty Springfield and Jenny Lewis, and I would even throw my girl, Natalie Maines, into that category. It's time that I, amongst others, add two more deserving souls to that list, in a "it's a different time" sort of way. The Blow and Pink Nasty both represent a type of mentality that will hook me every time: the "why not?" mentality. In fairness to Pink Nasty, since I gave The Blow some love following her unforgettable CMJ performance at the FADER Sideshow, it's time to give Pink Nasty her due.
