The Tower Records "Going Out of Business" faux-sale continues with CDs now marked 40% off. The irony is that most discs are priced at a gut-punching $18.99, so 40% off still doesn't beat brand-new prices at St. Mark's Sounds, or Amazon.com for that matter.Hoping to find a needle in a haystack, today's trip scored me Rod Stewart's "Smiler" for $4.58 (slightly higher online). For that one moment, I'll be sad to see Tower pack its bags.
