THE HEAD SET / ABERDEEN CITY / RICHARD SWIFT @ MERCURY LOUNGE
[The Head Set]Despite the overwhelmingly lopsided turnout in favor of Boston's Aberdeen City at tonight's Mercury Lounge show also featuring The Head Set and Richard Swift, The Head Set are clearly one of my favorite emerging bands. I admit that elevating one of those three bands above the other two is also like saying you're clearly more partial towards UNC basketball's Ty Lawson over the other two fab freshmen on this year's roster. The fact is, in both cases, it's just too early to tell. But that never stopped us from talking, did it? Here's to the wonderful notion that you can still have an unbelievable time in New York City with $10 and a MetroCard. Peace.
