I don't know if I should feel excited or embarrassed. With that sort of introduction, you're probably expecting a random confession that I couldn't help myself from buying all of Bananarama's recorded material to date, even the imports. Stranger things have happened, but that's not it.I would count The Jayhawks' Rainy Day Music as one of the smoothest top-to-bottom records I've ever heard. Probably not a coincidence it was produced by Ethan Johns. However, with a statement like that, I would like to think I was familiar with the musicians themselves. I would like to think that. Instead, when I received a fairly enthusiastic email from Lost Highway Records touting the release of Tim O'Reagan's solo debut, I almost trashed it. Then I remember, I've never heard a Lost Highway artist who wasn't worth at least one spin (Willie Nelson, Ryan Adams, Lucinda Williams, Tift Merritt, etc). Turns out Tim O'Reagan's brain-children include Rainy Day's own "Tampa to Tulsa" and "Don't Let The World Get In Your Way." Sold.
