Get Schooled

Pack your Transformers lunch box, seal your Thermos tight, and get to school, kids. INDIE NIGHT SCHOOL is in session. That's right. If you haven't already received your admissions packet, consider yourself enlightened: Indie Night School, curated by Tom Sean of the band The Black Spoons, is a monthly gathering at NYC rockspot Pianos devoted to practically covering the various segments of the music business. A&R? Check. Artist Management? Check. Benefit Concerts? Check.

Last night's class was dedicated to Production & Recording Engineering. Now, here's the best part. Each class features a panel of industry experts. And by experts, we're not talking about your Dad's friend who played harmonica on Boy Scouts campouts. We're talking Steve Lillywhite, for example. Holla.

I know what you're thinking - "That's great that the spoiled Apple jacks get to check this out, but what about everyone else?" The answer is PODCASTS. Hit up http://www.ICONOCASTIC.com for podcasts of every INS session to date.

Keep tabs on INS at http://indienightschool.blogspot.com, including their plans to take the classes nationwide beginning in April 06.
