Tonight I'm showing some love to my favorite record shops around the country. Hit me up with yours.

ST. MARKS SOUNDS (20 St. Marks Place - NYC - http://newyork.citysearch.com/profile/7087285/)
- You'll be hard-pressed to find a better used CD collection anywhere. This week, I picked up a used copy of Ryan Adams' 29 (not out until Dec 20).

SUBTERRANEAN RECORDS (5 Cornelia St. - NYC - recordsnyc.com/)
- Gives new meaning to the term 'hole in the wall.' Aptly named, Subterranean actually requires you to walk downstairs from the West Village sidewalk into what feels like a basement closet. Deep collection of CD/vinyl classics and rarities from Dylan, Rolling Stones, and The White Stripes, including handwritten comments on each.

PLAN 9 MUSIC (3012 W. Cary St. - Richmond, VA - www.plan9music.com)
- Hipster central for Virginia music heads. Extensive collection of used CDs to compliment the best selection of new CDs (especially rock and jazz) of any independent store on the East Coast. This shop will always hold a special place in my heart for pushing Kings of Leon's debut EP, Holy Roller Novocaine, for 99 cents at the counter with a card that read "Will you give a hot new indie band a chance for 99 cents? Imagine The Strokes covering Skynyrd."

GOOD RECORDS (617 N. Good Latimer - Dallas, TX - www.goodrecords.com)
- Owned by Polyphonic Spree maestro Tim Delaughter, this is a spot where the best-sellers include Sufjan Stevens, Pilotdrift, Devendra Banhart, and of course the Thumbsucker soundtrack (featuring the Spree).
